Ken doctor/chef portrait

I was really close recently to go back to Sweden Gothenburg where I grew up, but for financial reason again I was not able to. I will have to just trust that my lord and savior will provide one day an opportunity to go back after almost 21 years. Here is a recent commission I just did for a family that wanted to give it as a gift. I am in the middle of now painting my new Bathroom so I better get back! See ya all later and as usual comments are always welcomed :)

Close ups of portrait commission

Here is some close ups of what I am currently working I am painting digital, but I did have an undertone that was traditional! You will see more of the final one completed

Jewish recognition slide show with Caricatures by Lars

This project was a real challenge to fit the two people the Tampabay Jewish Community wanted to recognize. I believe I pulled it of and it was also printed and framed and given to the Cherins. I also worked at the Jewish Festival celebrating the Isreal Independence! I will show you the slide show the made just the beginning part where the fun slide show was made!

Proposal with a Caricature

I thought this would be fun to share. The other day I was approached by a young gentleman that wanted to propose thru a suprise with a Caricature. Here is a testimony (read more on http://www.larserarts.com/testimonials from the Brian!:
“Lars was great I contacted him about helping me with my proposal while at Pier 60 in Clearwater. He was great! Helped me plan it in advance and his work was awesome! And she said yes!!!!” Brian Sharlow

Final (for now) Mike Oil Painting

I really had a great time with learning the Dutch Flemish approach to Oil painting with Thomas Fluharty on http://www.schoolism.com Here are the assignment I submitted and I had a really hard time trying get a photo of it with out a light reflection. I also layed the painting flat on the ground with the light hitting it on its left side just like it is in the painting. You can really see the build up in the high lighted area. Have a blessed day

Sisters: Peaches, Pumpkin and Squirt

I hope everyone is doing great, and that your Easter will be Joyful! I wonder if this really gets to anyone and if it does please do not be shy to say a few words to me! I sometime feel as if I work in sealked bag and love to hear from out side the bag! I like to hear anything how your day was, questions on techniques for painting, or just plain a hello! :) Here is a pastel and pen and Ink on toned paper I did for a father day gift. Have a blessed resurrection Sunday!

GF Joe

I had some fun with this job, and thought it would be fun to show one version that Joe was showing his whole chest, and another where he has a chef Jacket on. I also placed the art with Text. I hope you enjoy! I really tried hard not to Caricaturize and do more realistic and look as close as I could at what my reference was showing. I would really like to see more feed back on this site! You can GF Joe Gluten Free Bakery on his site right here: http://www.gfjoe.com/

Final Tom Gift Caricature

I feel totally blessed to have the oppertunity to give people a laugh with my work (I hope) here is my final on the Brother Tom from Australia. I wish I could do more, and I really do believe 590 of the work was in the underpainting stage which I will also show. Good night and God bless!

Underpainting Stage of Tom

This is short and sweet, I am currently in the in the value stage of this gift for a brother in Australia. I share more once color is layed in. I have a head ache, good night!

Retirement Caricature

This is a classic request I usually get for Caricatures. I usually try to discourage to much info because it makes the image a little cluttered. Alot of the 10 different details I used photos, and if this was not for a private use I would have copyright infringements. I painted into those photos, to change them a little. I don’t like to use photos is my art but the budget was just not there for a fully rendered detailed picture, but I still think it is strong! Here is the request from the client:

“She was an office manager, She loves FSU football, She love Elvis, She loves the pope and the Catholic church, She is organized, She is motherly, She likes Mexican food, She likes Jack Daniels, She DOESN’T like her husband’s dog – a golden retriever, She has one daughter and two grandkids – and she adores them all, She likes Snickers, She likes to bake, She is motherly, She is a non-traveler., She is bossy, She is ditzy, and She loves to dance.”
