Rodney Pike and his Depression
Happy Valentines day! We need to show a fellow artist some love today and that is Rodney Pike has some really awsome high quality digital photo manipulated Caricature work. Check out his Blog! He has a big following and I personal respect his work, but don’t want my work to be rendered in that fashion. I just think it is the a modern day collage type Illustration work, that really works in an unique way! I knew he had disabilities, but did not know how. I received a blog post from the wife of Lydia Pike. This what I wrote (now if you have a fobia for Christian religious over tones be aware! LOL) :
“Dear Rodney Pike
I feel so much for your pain and depression. To be honest I knew you had a disability about the way you make your work, but thought it was something with you hands!
Today is Valentines day, and I hope you understand you are loved by so many!
In my personal relations with my Jesus, God puts me thru challenges in life just to test us and that we always need to glorify him, because of what he has done for us by sacrificing
his only son in trade of washing away our sins totally white and clean! I personally receive a real happiness in life to create my work and make a difference in someone's life,
and your doing the same thing! So bottom line is I will be praying for you to be able to kick the depression and realize there is alot of people here for you and that God is willing
to give you that light at the end of the tunnel we all need! Jesus is coming back to put everything straight, so stay on your path and he will show us the way!
Now this is my personal views of how I noticed a purpose in my life and if others are reading this please do understand I mean no harm! Thank You Lydia for sharing!"

Tas Portrait
Hello and good morning!
I am every day greatful for what God as giving me, Grace of his only son dying on the cross, with my family, and the talent he has given me as an artist. I try to think of other people had how they feel about there family while I am was working on Tas. I am taking a class with Thomas Fluharty on http://www.schoolism.com and he teaching Oil Painting in the Dutch Flemish Approch! Here are some of the master to think of that painting in that way: Kramskoy, Bouguereau, Ingres, Rembrant. Those are some great references and I wanted to post it for myself to look back at and my favorite is the russian painter Kramskoy. Here is the sketch of my teachers Daughter Tas.
Below here I have reference, sketches and the sepia tones:
New snap shots of a Illustration spot
These following close ups are for a new client I have just added on with
Bass Angler Magazine. I will share the whole piece and what is about when I get it in the mail. I thought is was fun doing the close ups of the eyes of both humans and Fish alike.
Gift Caricature of Chef Jeff and Debbie
I had fun doing this Caricature. My wife said to be careful on how I do some of the special request, and if not pointed out would not notice ( the booner and nipples hard LOL) I included the references I used and also the first traditional Black & white line Drawing, and the coloring is done digitally.
Andy Serkis Painting
I thought it would be appropriate to show you my step-by-step with painting my Andy Serkis. I have been struggling with finding my style with the involving the new digital medium. I really like to sketch right with pencil first, pen & Ink, water color, gouache, and then digital. I hope you like that I share my progress in this painting. I like that every week on Caricaturama Showdown we all pick the same famous person and Caricaturize our own interpretation!
New Logo design
I try to stay specialized in my art, but I don’t mind a challenge, so I took on a logo design. He wanted something I normally don’t do and that is something that look very simple but it had to be very sharp and everything clear behind the logo. It will be used in a relator video and all his marketing video. here are the steps I took from the end ing results.

HERE I AM GETTING CRAZY WITH MY RED PAINT ?!
Michael C. Hall “Dexter”

I need to take a break last night from working on my current commission of a mexican migrant working passing the border. The client wants alot of changes, and Im lucky he wanted it digital. So I took a break and played around with my gouache of a current person “Michael C. Hall” “Dexter” he is some kind of serial killer on a show I do not watch and can’t remember right now ( too lazy to look up, not important). I was trying to find a regular medium I really like with my water colors. The only thing I don’t like in this piece is the greens are not working especially in forehead. I had things to do today, until 6pm which is the time the deadlne is on facebook: “caricaturama showdown 3000″. I was reminded yesterday that to be carfule in boasting and I believe it all because of Jesus I have the power to paint and build the kingdom here on earth. My Paster Randy Evans from http://www.gracechristian.com meansioned this while reading Acts 12:21 look it up but basically they talk about how this king Heron wore this really great and silver shiny shirt that made all the peoples think he was God, He took all that glory for him self and did not redirect towards our saviour Jesus. God made him die on the spot of tape worm eating him up! (I should have painted the Dexter serial killer like that)
1 Corinthians 10:31 - ‘So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.’
